Athletic Director

Jonas James

Jonas James has been a coach at Lanier since 2002. His time here has gained him several State Championships and successful pupils. He has also won awards from the State of Mississippi as Coach of the Year. He has coached in various areas of athletics in women's and men's sports. Many of his pupils have gone on to further their talents in the NBA and college, where some have gone on to become coaches of their own teams.  

Coach James currently serves as the Athletic Director for Lanier High School. As the Athletic Director for Lanier High, Coach James oversees all areas of athletics under the umbrella of MSHAA guidance. He also assisted the JPS Districts AD Daryl Jones with overseeing other athletic areas in the district.

A mentor to all, Coach James, has allowed athletics at Lanier High School to safely guide students to the highest standards in athletics.
